Catholic schools week celebrated through the United States

January 28 – February 1

Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac School in Temecula California launches the celebration of Catholic Schools Week with the 4th annual 5k NUN RUN, taking place January 26. This event brings the school parents and community together for a festive family celebration of about 300 participants. The festivities actually begin with a Saturday evening family Mass, followed by a pasta Italian dinner.

The 5k Nun Run begins with prayer and singing of the national anthem, prices are given to the winners in each age category, and various vendors have booths sponsoring health and educational services.

The 5k NUN RUN promotes solidarity among our families with the proceeds going towards tuition assistance for families who wish to send their children to Saint Jeanne’s but need financial aid.

Just as Saint Jeanne used the first Child Mary procession to let the citizens of Bordeaux know about the existence and success of the first school, so the Nun Run also reaches out to the greater surrounding community making our school and its mission better known.
